maybe this’ll be a holiday song christmas countdown? this was the first starflyer 59 song i ever heard, and i’m pretty sure it actually changed my life. i was 12 years old, heard this song (probably on a 7-ball sampler?), then asked my parents for sf59’s americana, damien jurado’s waters ave s, and pedro the lion’s it’s hard to find a friend for christmas. like good parents, they got me exactly what i wanted. and, like a good person, i stopped listening to so much dc talk.

colour revolt is releasing their first ep on clear vinyl, limited run of 1,000. it also comes with a digital download of this ep, the “makeshift” ep (2005), and a remix version of a new family.
i know it’s tacky to buy yourself stuff for christmas. maybe even tackier when it won’t be released until february. but guess what? i do what i want.
go buy this (but wait a few second so i can finish my order first).
ALSO, i’m seeeeeriously considering flying home for the new brookland tavern show (in their words: “In celebration of this momentous occasion, we will be playing a select number of shows in some of the towns we first started playing all those years ago. At these shows, we will play the EP from start to finish (plus some other songs)”).

my li’l sister adopted an orphaned elephant for me for christmas. murka was found with a spear lodged in her skull, a deep axe wound in her rear, and other cuts all over. the spear had penetrated so deeply that it pierced her nasal cavity and she couldn’t get any suction in her trunk (all of the air just escaped out of the hole in her head):
messed up, right? it makes my stomach mad.
now she’s doing much better - she can get some suction in her trunk and her wounds are healing and she’s kind to her caretakers and she’s been playing with the other orphans and and and:
next thing: ima go to kenya and visit my baby girl.
